Colegas con PC y Logic:confesad! : Logic

Una minima y rapida confesión:

Cuanto usan ustedes de RAM?

Me explico

Cambié todos los componentes de mi pc.Disk enorme y demas elementos de primera ( Core2 Duo etc) Y de ram puse 2 Mb.(RAM Kingstone)

Pero hay funciones como un simple pegar dos pequeñas tomas de audio(de 1 compas cada una) y me saca" memoria insuficiente".

Le saco una de ram , me quedo con 1 Mb. y las pega sin problemas.

Nota:Faelitox remarcó que Logic trabaja con solo un mega....(?)

Según tengo entendido, el Logic en PC no funciona bien con mas de 1Gb ( supongo que te refieres a 1 Gb y no a 1 Mb ).

Hasta hace poco también usaba el Logic pero me pasé a Nuendo para programar. El Logic, aunque me encanta, se queda ya muy atrás respecto a Cubase o Nuendo, especialmente con los VSTis

Con los inmensos requerimientos de ram de los softsamplers un giga se queda escaso la verdad, aun asi yo sigo con logic para PC con un giga. Lastima que no se le pueda poner mas... eso si, echo de menos la funcion freeze de cubase/nuendo, por lo demas estoy contento con logic.

La función freeze hace mucho tiempo que la tiene Logic, pero claro, en las versiones recientes...

tretre, al tiempo alguien tenia 2gb y le funcionaba bien,no me acuerdo del post, y yo pregunte a ese señor que configuracion tenia, pero no respondio,
la ram que tienes ( 2gb ) esta en dos placas de 1gb , prueba si tienes la oportunidad de meter solo una placa de ram de 2gb, no es normal que a gente le vaya bien y a otros no y dicho sea de paso se agradeceria que a las personas que le vaya bien con mas ram dijeran la configuracion que tienen ( hardware, o soft - algun programa de gestion virtual de memoria...-)

Es razonable lo que decis.Pero bueh,no puedo por ahora hacer esa experiencia con 2 Gigas en una placa.
(perdon por haber puesto Mb en mi 1er post).

Y es una pena porque realmente es muy notoria la diferencia de velocidad.Me imagino,por otro lado, que no será cosa de versiones Logic no? Yo sigo con mi 5.5

Pero hay algo demasiado raro...ahora que lo re pienso.....Por ahora la UNICA funcion que no realiza el Logic con 2 Gb de ram es pegar dos waves...las tomas midi las pega.....cosa de "memory full".....a que otra memory que a la de la ram puede referirse??...seguiré probando a ver si hay otros
malestares.

en este link hay una forma de funcionar logic con 2gb de ram, la verdad nunca lo he probado, y si tu lo pruebas y no controlas que te lo haga alguien que sepa de informatica ( no es para tanto pero...),
por cierto esta en ingles, ya nos :wink:

si alguien hace el favor de traducir esto,( pues las traducciones on-line son de risa)
quiza podriamos hacer algo con logic 5.5 y la ram y nos beneficiariamos todos un poco mas de este secuenciador, yo mirare que alguien lo traduzca pero mejor alguien que controle de informatica algo y del logic tambien, digo yo

I have had some success with the application of a fix that was posted last
year on the list. The fix is an edit of boot.ini to restrict the memory
WindowsXP uses up - this workaround helps Logic PC work better in machines
with over 1GB of RAM.

First here is a link to MS support's page which gives a how to on editing

Now here's a repost of the two posts on this fix from last year - thanks to
the original posters. I applied the first fix (1.9 GB) and it solved a
problem I had where I could not import a midi file due to "insuffiicient
memory."

Hi K-v-R,

I think I may of stumbled across a workaround for the Out of Memory problem
Logic PC users face. This problem has been plaguing my own work since
installing 2Gb into my machine. A simple fix has allowed my work to breathe
a bit again.

I'm indebted to iain @ sonikmatter for an original post.

The fix requires editing your boot.ini file and works by limiting the
amount of RAM available to the operating system. You can do this by adding
a switch to the boot menu.

Refusing to allow Windows XP to access the top few K of memory seems to
allow Logic to work in it's intended manner.

Under '[operating systems]' in boot.ini, you should have something like:
'multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP"
/fastdetect' (no quotes)

I have added below it:
'multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP 1.9GB"
/fastdetect /maxmem=1919'

The maxmem number is the amount of memory in MB. The boot menu now allows
me to choose to load Windows with only 1.9GB of useable memory. If you have
different amounts of memory try taking off a few MB and pray.

Please make sure you have a full backup of your system if you feel anxious
editing your system.

If it's working well, you can make the maxmem'd system default by putting
it first in the [operating systems] list.

I hope you will find this as as useful as K-v-R has been to me.

MaxMem wont' screw up your system, and I'll give you one tip better. In the
boot.ini, copy the line that has your boot on it. The line that has

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect

Change what's in the quotes to "Less memory boot" so it reads like this

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Less Memory Boot" /fastdetect
/maxmem=1024

for example. Now you can still have both options. You'll just need to make
sure you have the ability to select My Computer Properties/Advanced/Startup
And Recovery button, and have the default operating system boxes checked.
Once you have two entries in there, you'll get the menu on boot. If you
click the edit button, you'll automatically come up with the boot.ini as well.

La funcion pegar dos elementos audio que me decía Error,memoria insuficiente,no jode más.Anda con los 2 Gb de ram.
Lo que hice fué:

Mi PC/Prop/Re4ndimiento/Config.

Elegí en Ajustes visuales:Ajustar para tener mejor rendimiento.

En Opciones avanzadas,y abajo de todo Memoria virtual,le di 10 al minimo y 20 al max. en el disco C donde tengo mi Logic instalado.

Estas cifras 10/20 son "antojadisas",o sea que le dí lo minimo.Iré probando si puedo o debo darle mas que eso.

Luego apliqué lo que ofreció a leer NEPH(grande Neph!)y elegí esta:multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Less Memory Boot" /fastdetect
/maxmem=1024

ATENCION: a mí me marchó.No me comprometo a establecer esto como dogma.No entiendo nada de computers.

Tengo a veces,aisladamente por ahora,desincronizacion de audio y midi.Me da el error,me pregunta si continuar.Continuo....y veremos.

Advertencia:Con los cambios,la funcion del Logic PEGAR anda perfecto,pero la maquina y el explorer lentisimos.O sea,no conviene.

Por no desanimar a quien quiera probarlo, apunto que con 2 gb todo -logic, explorer, notepad- me va perfectamente tras haber hecho esos cambios
