01. SONAR 5.2 Upgrade Announced
Coming early April 2006
With the SONAR 5.2 update, planned for early April, we are adding key features that expand the usability of SONAR. While earlier versions of SONAR supported only 16 MIDI channels through ReWire, the 5.2 update allows SONAR to access up to 4,096 channels of MIDI in ReWire mode. VST instruments can now send MIDI output data within the program. SONAR 5.2 will be the first digital audio workstation on the market to support the VST 2.4 specification. In addition, we’ve added deeper control surface support and improved the piano roll view, automation and more!
SONAR 5.2 update highlights

VST 2.4 support, allowing for 64-bit double-precision audio quality through VST effects and instruments, along with compatibility with Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. (Note: SONAR 5’s BitBridge technology allows pre-VST 2.4 plug-ins to run in SONAR’s x64 environment)
Support for MIDI output data from VSTi plug-ins
Support for Waves VST plug-ins (Note: Waves DirectX plug-ins have always been supported)
Support for up to 4,096 MIDI channels to any ReWire device (up from 16)
Extensions to SONAR’s Control Surface capabilities allowing Control Surfaces to receive multi-channel metering information and to get/set punch states
In addition, the update addresses issues reported by customers after SONAR’s initial release specifically regarding VST automation, SONAR’s Piano Roll and Inline Piano Roll, and Perfect Space

Soporte para 4,096 canales rewire? Si se refiere a esto, es una buena noticia, para los que tenemos Reason

Y digo yo... ¿no podría ser en cristiano?. Tal vez de esa manera los "hispasonicos" podríamos enterarnos de algo.

Sensacional! si Sonar ya era el mejor ahora lo es con diferencia (almenos para mi), si no he entendido mal en esta actualizacion los plug ins seran capaces de enviar midi, cosa en la que cubase le ganava partida y que para mi me viene de perlas ^^

Respecto a lo de waves ya podia cargar plug ins pero supongo que es por que siempre ha sido capaz de cargar versiones Directx y ahora puede tambien con vst aunque siempre he estado convencido de que los mios eran vst, en fin... este sonar se sale
