MX 80 is a professional multi track tape recorder working 1 inch or 2 inch tape width. There are machines with 8, 16 and 24 tracks. High (H) tape speeds are 15 ips or 30 ips and low tape speed is 7.5 ips or 15 ips. MX-80-8H is a machine with 8 tracks and High tape speed; MX-80-24 H is is a machine with 24 tracks and high tape speed. Machines with 24 tracks uses 2 inch width tapes. Machines with 16 tracks may have option of 1 inch or 2 inch tape
