This is the workhorse snare drum used by many Yamaha artists from the late 1980s until the early 1990s when it was discontinued. Artists like Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl and Steve Gadd used this snare a lot. You can see it used by Vinnie on the 1991 Buddy Rich Memorial concert and by Weckl on his Back to Basics video
