Venga, me voy a poner un poco "pastelero" (y disculpad que no ponga enlaces a Youtube o similares pero es que en el curro tengo "capados" los accesos a algunas páginas):

Volviendo a lo que es o no es balada, y como es algo muy personal, a no ser que acudamos a definiciones "oficiales", creo que para mí una balada no tiene por qué ser, como decías, extra-lenta forzosamente, pero sí tiene que tener un cierto predominio de acordes menores. Para mí, si no tiene ninguna de las dos cosas, no es una balada (es una deducción que he hecho empíricamente tomando algunos ejemplos, pero que, claro, sólo me vale a mí!). En este sentido el tema de Mike & the Mechanics (perdona que insista en ese ejemplo) no es extra-lento y tiene un estribillo en el que predominan acordes mayores; un estribillo que tira a alegre y que yo nunca metería en un CD de baladas.

Qué pesadito estoy con el tema, eh ?
