Hello,
A DI box is not required if the source is balanced. Ultimately, you should be able to connect from balanced line sources directly to the X32 with no problems, because the X32 has a really wide gain range. However, you'll find the gain controls on the X32 will be set very low.
For the best possible results we still recommend using DI's, because they use balancing transformers. This would be especially important if your going long cable lengths, such as through a 150 ft snake for example.
Keep in mind, you always have the 6 AUX line inputs as well on the X32. Not sure how many keyboard sources you have, but there's 6 line channels available. These can be balanced or unbalanced sources.
I hope this helps!
