BASIQ free 3-band equalizer
BasiQ is an acronym for Baxandall Simulation Equalizer, a free 3-band equalizer plugin with photorealistic graphics from Kuassa. As the name implies, the engine is modeled after the design of the classic Baxandall Equalizer, well known for its smooth shelves and natural-sounding response, similar to the tone control of hi-fi systems. The simple controls allow you to shape your source material appropriately and concisely, opening up air, applying shimmer, or giving an extra oomph to the low end where needed.
This straightforward equalizer is well-suited for both mixing and mastering purposes, though the neutral characteristic of basiQ lends itself as more of a sweetening device or to give a transparent tilt to your mixes, rather than surgical frequency correction. It is best paired on the master channel with the Kratos Maximizer, another audio processing plugin from Kuassa, Inc.

WatKat is a digital “clone” of a Wem Watkins “Custom” Copicat. It sounds very lo-fi,
noisy, irregular. When you turn it off and leave the tape loaded, the tape bends in
proximity of the capstan, and this turns into a periodic pitch fall during echo playback;
plus, it gets hot and the background hum gets worse in time… you should turn it off
every now and then; the tape is never completely erased, and the capstan motor
flutters… and it gets worse if you touch it while it’s spinning; heads tend to get dirty
very soon, infact you should clean them often. This is true for the actual hardware unit,
and for the digital simulation as well!

Mmmm...

Interesantes. Quien los pruebe, que comente!

Boscomac has released Lamellae and Epinette, two free instrument ensembles for Native Instruments Reaktor.
Lamellae is a generator based on physical models that emulates the sound of a tuned percussion as the vibraphone, marimba, bells and more. It consists of two parallel resonators that allow for rich harmonic sounds. Lamellae is a kind of small laboratory for those who like to research sounds but it has several presets that already offer various sounds ready for composer.
Epinette is a musical instrument plucked from the harpsichord family, controlled by a keyboard. Epinette was widespread along with the harpsichord in Europe from the late fifteenth to the eighteenth century. It’s the best friend of the Viola Organista!
