Problemas de tiempos de carga en Kontakt con Windows defender

... jeje .. pues sí, pero sube muuuy despacio ...
A mi también me va bien sin software de seguridad ... de hecho una de las cosas que más me ha gustado de siempre de los OS de WIndows es lo que sigue inmeditamente de la instalación: desabitar y desinstalar todo lo que no te gusta, me encanta bucear por el regedit, servicios etc. Francamente si se le mete mano a windows todo va mucho más fluido cuando el ordenador tiene un tiempo ... ya sea Kontakt o lo que queramos.

#16 Mi hermana, que estudia arquitectura, me pidió hace unas semanas que le optimizara la notebook, ya que pese a tener un pepinaso de pc gamer, con el autocad no podía.
El caso es que me dio la impresión de que windows 10 lo pone más difícil (yo uso win 7) a parte de tener significativamente más procesos y servicios.
Para mí el santo grial con win 7 fue desactivar definitivamente windows update, e instalar las actualizaciones necesarias mediante paquetes (algo parecido a los service pack del Xp).

Pues me imagino que son cosas de los permisos de Facebook como lo haya configurado Ivan, tienes que estar logeado y pertenecer al grupo, así es que lo copió y lo pegó aquí abajo, me imagino que al ser algo público a Iván no le importará:

I've been always working with INTEL. Unfortunately, it's not giving me the expected results in terms of performance within Cubase 10. The ASIO meter shows really high values with just a single instance of a synth. I know that some VSTis are more demanding than others but this is crazy... This happens as well with Kontakt, but I've realized that it's mainly related to Time Machine Pro and Convolution Effects. I've done all the tweaks that I've found on Steinberg Forums, and the support staff is helping me as well. They suggested to deactivate Cool and Quiet on my MOBO, and I've tried also with many variations of Asio Guard, Power Balance, Hyperthreading, NVidia Drivers, tweaking BIOS, Antivirus, Latency Mon. All that you guys might imagine... Worth to mention that I tried this at really high latency values... 512, 1024 and VEP, where the performance seems better, but not enough. At times, there are kind of gallops within it (not audio dropouts, more like syncopated audio-glitches) I'm told that the limits with cores within CUBASE 10 are already removed... So I'm not sure it's something related to this issue. I can see the cores working incredibly nice on Process Lasso, and performing like a beast on 3d applications. But the audio apps are not running well, it's a fact... With such a scenario, I feel forced to get a new machine. I've seen the Scan Pro Audio tests and as I've said, I'm hesitating between the i9 9940x

Hace unos años le ocurrió algo también con Apple y se pasó a Windows. Creo recordar que eran problemas al conectar dos equipos y compartir recursos.

A mi primeras se me ocurre que no haya acertado con la elección de memorias por el tema de las latencias con los AMD en la actual generación de procesadores o que tenga un problema con la interfaz de audio. ya somos 2. Yo desde que compré mi actual pc en 2013, no uso antivirus, los odio. Y será suerte, pero más allá de algún malware (de eliminan bien) no problem

Por si os sirve de algo, yo me monto mis propios hackintosh con componentes seleccionados y sin problema ninguno (y llevo con ellos más de 10 años).
Me pasé de Cubase a Logic para secuenciar y Pro Tools para mezclar.
No tengo un superpepino ultramoderno pero me hace el apaño.
Por cierto, ayer en la presentación del Mac Pro abrieron una sesión de Logic con ¡¡¡400!!! pistas midi con Kontakt.

Yo le compré hace poco un mac a medida a un usuario de hispasonic (powerstudios) y no puedo estar más contento. Superrecomendable!

con 100 pistas de kontakt y ni se entera,

De todos modos ya me dirás su canal de facebook tengo mucha curiosidad en lo que comentas porque en principio el mes que viene tendré que elegir entre Intel y AMD ... supongo que el problema que tiene está más relacionado con audio que con midi .... más una configuración con buffers bajos. Toda la información es siempre de ayuda ... aunque en principio estoy entre el 9900k de Intel y los nuevos de AMD que saldrán el próximo mes.

Por si a alguien le interesa pego un comentario de Jim Roseberry (creador de DAWs y por cierto también monta equipos) sobre AMD:

Ryzen motherboards have been extremely flaky.

AMD Infinity Fabric architecture benefits from higher RAM speed.
However, most Ryzen motherboards don't operate stable at RAM speed above 2400MHz.
I got a motherboard to run RAM at 3200MHz, but it was a massive undertaking.
Even then, one day, you go to turn on the machine... and it wouldn't post (requiring CMOS to be cleared).
If you don't mind being in constant "mechanic mode" it's OK.

Running RAM at 3200MHz isn't a huge benefit on the Intel side, but quality motherboards will do so without issue.

Then there were other completely bizarre issues:
Simultaneous Multi-Threading (Hyperthreading in AMD speak) would disappear after disabling the motherboard's onboard audio. Yes, you read that correctly.

Ryzen is great at super heavily multi-threaded tasks (video rendering in particular).
Many folks don't realize that many processes in a DAW can't be multi-threaded.
A developer from Image Line explained this in detail (few months back) on the KVR Forums.
For those times, the lower clock-speed of the Ryzen impedes performance.

Also keep in mind that many apps/plugins aren't fully optimized for Ryzen.
ie: On a test project, Boost 11 would make audible clicks on a Kick track (when running Ryzen).
Same exact project ran Boost 11 completely glitch-free when running an Intel CPU.

For my money, the performance of the i7-8086k (12 processing threads locked at 5GHz) is hard to beat.
With the right air-cooler, it runs near dead-silent.
Best of all worlds: Cost, Performance, Quiet... high clock-speed and 12 virtual cores
